Researchers of Tobolsk get impulse

The Center for Academic Writing ushered into 2018 with the 3-R (Reading & wRiting about Research) Course for researchers of D.I. Mendeleev Tobolsk Pedagogical Institute, Tyumen State University Branch.
The first stage of the blended course took place from January 10 to January 12, 2018.  For three days, the participants became familiar with principles and strategies of scientific writing in English, read and discussed research papers from international journals in which they intend to publish their scientific discoveries. For many participants, the three-day experience of communication in English was completely new and challenging. By the end of the third day, the participants presented their action plans. They will carry on working on their article drafts, and they will report the results of their work at the end of June. The trainers of the Center will provide online consultations and give feedback and recommendations.

The participants' feedback:

Anatoly Gorokhov, postgraduate

‘I would like to express my gratitude for the real help, the professional advice, the incentive to the study of scientific writing in English. I will definitely continue my learning at the Center for Academic Writing "Impulse"’.

Marina Lapteva, professor, Chair of History, Philosophy and Teacher Education

“This course helped me estimate my ability to write scientific articles in English. The most important thing for me was that I got valuable information on the logic of construction of the original scientific texts and about the principles of scientific thinking in English. I received strong impetus to the preparation of a scientific article in English. I hope that this course will be successful in the coming months”.
