Collaboration with "Impulse"

The academic year has come to an end. The Center for Academic Writing “Impulse” has been trying to help the university faculty and researchers to become better writers through different writing programs.

To get feedback from the participants of the Center’s activities, they were asked to answer some questions in the survey “Collaboration with the Center for Academic Writing “Impulse". We are sharing some results of the survey.

The number of respondents – 65

The reasons why people could not participate are the following:
  • Lack of time
  • Low level of English

The most surprising reply was that one person did not know about CAWI.

Question 2: Do you think the participation in the Center's activities has enabled you not only to improve your scientific communication skills but also to develop your professional competencies?

  Blue: yes
  Red: No
  Yellow: Not sureImpact.jpg
Question 3: What are the most useful activities/events in your opinion?

Most participants of the Center’s events appreciated high-quality programs aimed to create a positive image of writing.
The replies include all the activities and events that were organized by CAWI. Here are only some examples (it might be a long list of all the events):

  • Workshops
  • Courses:
  • Writing a Scientific Paper
  • Strategies for Paragraph Development
  • Strategies for Cohesion
  • 3R- Course (Reading & WRiting about Research)
  • 3R- Summer Club (Reading & WRiting about Research)
  • Action Research for EFL teachers
  • Individual consultations
  • The British Council Researcher Connect programmes
  • Events with international experts

The survey also included the questions about possible collaboration between the particular university units and CAWI and some suggested topics for future events.
We received many suggestions and ideas, which we are going to analyze and to turn into reality.

Actually, the Center has become a collaborative and stimulating place to work and learn.
