EFL teachers discuss the prospects of implementing CLIL
On April 12th, Tyumen EFL teachers took part in a workshop devoted to CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). CAWI invited a special guest – Dr Elisabeth Wielander, Director of Learning &Teaching, Aston University, Birmingham (UK). Elisabeth has been implementing CLIL at Aston for many years, so she is aware of its assets and drawbacks from her experience. Elisabeth shared some general information about CLIL and its implementation. The participants had a great opportunity to discuss some prospects of introducing CLIL into the Russian teaching context. Productive atmosphere of the workshop evoked lively discussions and encouraged teachers to think about using this approach in our reality.
