"Researcher Connect" in Tyumen
A group of early career researchers from Tyumen State University attended a series of workshops on academic writing "Researcher Connect" on December 3-5, 2018. The seminar was initiated by Tyumen Industrial University. It was the third time when this program took place in Tyumen. Tyumen State University hosted this program twice in 2017 and 2018.The participants had a chance to be trained by Lucy Armitage, a professor from Oxford University. The workshop focused on the style of academic writing, particularly on writing abstracts, as well as organizing content in grant proposals. A great deal of attention was paid to academic collaboration. It is worth pointing out that the classes were given in an engaging interactive format. All the participants acquired valuable knowledge, managed to practice their English, and got a lot of pleasure from communicating with each other and a native speaking expert.
